Bryant Street Parklet

  • The Highland Park Community Council, the oldest non-profit neighborhood organization in Pittsburgh purchased the Bryant Street Parklet parcel with the intention of building a legacy park for the commercial district along Bryant Street. The Council was interested in revitalizing the space to serve the community for the next generations.

The first phase of the project engages the community in co-design to determine the program, planting, and overall approach for the parklet redesign. The team used surveys, event tabling, and a hands-on design activity that asked neighbors to design the parklet. These responses informed 3 designs that show what is possible in the parklet. The next phase of the project will be to narrow down to a single option based on feedback from the community.
